BELCO is proud to sponsor the Save the Island Virtual Concert, which is raising money for the Gina Spence Productions’ Champions Program. This program provides essential needs and clinical and social support to children in Bermuda whose parents were victims of gun-related violence or homicide.
Many children of homicide victims are left behind in at-risk situations with little grief support. By providing age-appropriate grief support to these children, Gina Spence Productions’ Champions Program aims to stop the cycle of anti-social behaviour and violence so that it does not affect yet another generation.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, BELCO provides support to many charitable initiatives around Bermuda, particularly those focusing on education, community development and family support. We also provide opportunities for young people to gain further education and develop fulfilling careers to remove them from gangs and violence.
