Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited Advisory on Bill Payments

Hamilton, Bermuda (April 1, 2020) – Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (BELCO) today announced several measures that have been implemented to assist customers in response to the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. BELCO continues to work to provide relief and more options for customers during these challenging times.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, BELCO is now accepting MasterCard, Visa and American Express and all credit card fees will be waived. BELCO also recently announced that it will not carry out any disconnects due to non-payment of bills through April 30, 2020.

The BELCO payment centre remains open at its main office located at 27 Serpentine Road but will be closing early at 3:30 pm each day until further notice. Customer Service Representatives are available until 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. Social distancing has been adopted for the health and safety of customers, particularly seniors and vulnerable customers, and staff by limiting the number of customers in the BELCO lobby to four or less at a time.

We are currently experiencing postal delays which may impact customers’ ability to receive their BELCO bills.  As a result, BELCO has provided several options for customers to view and pay their bills without visiting the main office. Customers can sign-up for an account at www.belco.bm where they can view their account balance. They can also send an email to to sign up for e-billing and bills will be e-mailed to them.

Customers may also call 299-2800 between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm and a Customer Service Representative will be happy to provide their outstanding balance.

BELCO bill Payments may be made online at www.belco.bm using Mastercard, Visa or America Express and the fees will be waived.

Customers can also sign-up for on-demand debit and direct debit services or opt to pay through local online banking or via an ATM.
